Step-by-step guide to install and set up Selenium with IntelliJ

Here's a step-by-step guide to install and set up Selenium with IntelliJ:

1. Download and install IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition from https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/

2. Open IntelliJ IDEA and create a new project.

3. Click on File > Project Structure.

4. In the Project Structure dialog box, click on Libraries.

5. Click on the "+" sign to add a new library.

6. Select "From Maven" and search for "Selenium".

7. Select "org.seleniumhq.selenium:selenium-java" and click on "OK".

8. Wait for IntelliJ to download and add the Selenium library to your project.

9. Create a new Java class and name it "TestSelenium".

10. Copy and paste the following code into the TestSelenium.java

Official Windows 11 pro BETA installation without TPM

This article brings you the simple steps to install Windows 11 BETA version, with dual boot mode alongside Windows 10, on any 64-bit CPU based computers without TPM. I have successfully installed Win 11 pro on my desktop having AMD A6 6400k CPU, ASUS A68HM-K motherboard, 4GB DDR3 RAM & 240GB SATA SSD.
Windows 11 is working on my desktop very smooth without even a small glitch. Existing Windows 10 is also working as is.

Summary of installation steps to have Windows 11 with Windows 10 in dual boot mode: (Please do it from Windows PC)

1. If you are not already having Win 10 USB bootable, install Windows media creation tool from below & create USB bootable.

2. Sign-in to your Microsoft account & download windows 11 beta ISO from here - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso

3. Have a dedicated partition or drive for Windows 11, preferably 30 to 50GB.

4. Ensure to have your WIN 10 USB in NTFS but not FAT32.

5. Copy install.wim from "sources" folder of Win 11 ISO to "sources" folder of WIN 10 USB. Delete install.esd from "sources" folder of WIN 10 USB.

This makes windows to consider installer as windows 10 even though you're having win 11 inside !! So, installation won't check for TPM or CPU.

Warning: Do not double click set-up & proceed within USB while on windows 10. Doing so will overwrite exiting window 10 with windows 11. But our agenda is to have both existing windows 10 & a new 11 in dual boot mode.

6. Boot USB from BIOS and select dedicated drive for Win 11 installations.    Win 11 installation process takes up to 45 mins depending on your system speed.

How to watch YouTube videos on car display screen

If you want to play YouTube videos, cricket matches on hotstar or your favourite Netflix shows on car infotainment system which is not android based display units - just follow below steps to screen mirror from phone to any car stereo infotainment displays.

Steps:

1. Connect male connector of RCA splitter to reverse camera IN jack on car display system. THIS IS TO SPLIT VIDEO SIGNALS.

2. 1 female of RCA splitter should be connected  to reverse camera. Another female to RCA of HDMI2AV adaptor.

3. Using type C to HDMI cable, connect USB Type C from phone to HDMI input of the HDMI2AV adaptor.

4. Audio from phone should be connected to car display unit via Bluetooth.

5. Tap on reverse camera ICON on car's screen to access screen mirroring.

That’s it ! 

Adaptor converts HDMI to AV - Audio will be via Bluetooth. Play anything from mobile to see the same on car's screen.

My LG G8X phone goes little dim when screen mirroring which saves battery. Not sure on other android phones if screen dimming works.

This tech is applicable for the phones which supports HDMI out.

HP 14-inch SSD Laptop CS0018TU Review: Perfect for students and office work from home

This is my review of HP laptop - HP 14 Intel Core Pentium Gold Processor 14-inch Thin and Light Laptop (4GB/256GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/Jet Black/1.47 kg), 14q-cs0018TU.

This review is based on my usage experience from past 8 months - for office work from home and for personal work including video rendering on VSDC.

This laptop has got usual looks but the presence of NVMe SSD makes it fast in booting and overall performance.

Physical overview: 

Design is usual with plastic body. Laptop weighs around 1.5kgs and not feather lite as advertised but easy to carry around.

Ports availability is the first area I liked in this laptop.

On right side - you have got 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI port and 3.5mm headphone jack.

On left - there a SD card slot and one USB 2.0 port which is ideal for attaching Bluetooth dongle for mouse.

There is no CD or DVD drive available.

You get Bluetooth version is 4.2

For charging, you get 41W adaptor and battery capacity is 3662 mAh. 

Display

You get 14” inch HD ready WLED screen which is having very limited viewing angles.

For me, it is fine for my work-from-home needs.

However, it is not good enough for watching movies or playing games, due to color shifts with change in viewing angles. Display is bright but not bright enough to be used outdoors.

This screen also bends up to 120 degrees which is common in most of the laptops.

Speakers are loud enough and good for attending online classes or meetings but not ideal for listening to music considering low bass levels. Same is the case with other laptops also with audio from in-built speakers.

Audio from headphone jack is fair enough for voice calls or vocals but again gives very average experience with music due to low bass levels.

Key board - It is very simple layout, comfortable to use and easy to get used to. This key board is not having back lighting but no complaints considering price point again.

Right below the key board, you have the track pad which works well and consistently functional. Accidental touches are rare when typing.

Performance

This laptop comes with intel Pentium gold 4417U processor. It is having 2 cores and clocked at 2.3Ghz base processor speed which is same as intel i3 7^th gen except 1MB extra cache which will not make much difference in day-to-day usage.

In this laptop, you get 4GB DDR4 2400Mhz Samsung RAM and relatively fast WD 256GB NVMe SSD storage. There is another vacant slot for RAM expansion but not for SSD expansion.

Be it normal use like work-from-home or multi-tasking, it did not notice any lag. Even video rendering with VSDC worked without any issue and video rendering time is acceptable.

Gaming - I tried asphalt 9 legends at high graphics settings and without turning on performance mode. Surprisingly, game was found totally playable all the time without any frame drops or lags. NVMe SSD is the hero here with gaming performance as well.

Battery life on this HP notebook is fair enough, as it lasts for up to 7.5 hours for normal usage i.e. typical work from home tasks which won’t utilize speakers much. Battery charging time is quick enough. It takes around 45 minutes to charge up to 50%. 

Software

This laptop comes with Win 10 home 64 bit pre-installed and there is no MS office. HP support assistant is pre-loaded and no other junk aware. No additional anti-virus or security apps also. 

Pricing

This laptop is available on amazon and I got it six month ago, for effective price of 17.7k including all discounts. However, Amazon keeps varying price and I suggest you to buy for any price below rs.20k.

There is another version of this laptop CS0025TU with only difference of MS office pre-installed and I suggest you to go ahead with it, as price will be around rs.22k.

VERDICT:

Considering all PROS and CONS, I would still recommend this laptop for work-from-home needs, students or teaching staffs and even for entry level content creators, as no other NVMe SSD laptops are available at this price segment as on Jun2020.

How to record or save any online music audio on your PC or laptop

1. Before recording, go to SOUND SETTINGS - SOUND CONTROL PANEL - Under Recording tab, ensure that STEREO MIX is selected as default.

2. Keep volume levels near 50% at max, as high-volume levels will create distortion in audio recordings.h

3. Play any online audio or video and open VOICE RECORDER on your pc/laptop and start recording.

4. . Audio recordings will be in M4A format which are playable on mobiles as well.

What is TDS of water and how to use TDS meter

Here is the quick video to understand what is TDS of water and how to use TDS meter.

TDS stands for “total dissolved solids” which represents the total amount organic and inorganic salts dissolved in water.  Human body needs certain proportion of these solids in drinking water though.

According to World Health Organization, TDS level less than 300 mg/litre is considered as excellent, between 300 and 600 mg/liter is good, 600-900 is fair, 900 -- 1200 is poor and TDS level more than 1200 mg/liter is unacceptable.

 

Most of the cities are getting municipal water supplied to us within TDS value ranging between 150 to 180. For these TDS values, usual UF filters or UV filters will serve the purpose to eliminate the contaminants, I order to make water safe to drink.

This is the basic reason on National Green Tribunal's order prohibiting use of reverse osmosis (RO) purifiers where total dissolved solids (TDS) in water are below 500 mg per litre.

TDS meter you see in video is completely made out of plastic. It has got ON OFF button. When you turn on, it reads 0 PPM.

Demo is shown on municipal water , Kaveri water, which reads 115 PPM as TDS value which is safe drink but not as is. You need filtering with either UV or any gravity or even traditional filters. 

Pressing hold button on TDS meter will just store the current TDS value.

This TDS meter comes with additional functionality of checking the temperature of the room or hall. There is case cover bundled inside the pack of this TDS meter.

Overall, I found the readings accurate all the time when I compared with other TDS meters and found it value for money.

How to fix RECENT APPS RELOADING ISSUE when switching between apps on Huawei Honor 10 lite.

Hi there, this is tech devotee. 

I have bought 3GB variant of honor 10 lite a month ago and I am finding it as a better alternative to redmi/realme phones in this segment, in many aspects starting from in-hand feeling.

However, default RAM management found with EMUI on this device found to be very aggressive, which results app switching as app reloads all the time.

This app reloading issue makes payment failures. For e.g. when you make a payment from Amazon app and go to SMS to copy bank OTP for few seconds. After copying OTP and come back to amazon app even within few seconds, Amazon app itself reloads and payment page will disappear.

Amazon is just the example I am giving. However, it happens with all the apps.

There is a straight forward settings change here, which is not familiar or known to users who are using EMUI for the first time.

All you need to do is, navigate to SETTINGS -> BATTERY -> APP LAUNCH

By default, all the apps are selected here by EMUI to manage all the apps automatically.

Here you need to UNCHECK all your shopping and payments apps. This will stop unchecked apps being reloaded while switching over.

Troubleshooting: If disable-app in this method was done by mistake, enable the app back using either using ADB enable command or from your mobile phone under MANAGE apps, shown in the video. Do not disable system apps required for OS. If done by mistake, visit authorized service centre and get your device reset.

Follow below steps to turn off default acrylic blur effect on lock screen, after windows 10 1903 update


Step 1: Type Edit group policy in Start button search and hit “Enter” key.

Step 2: Navigate to: Computer configuration > Administrative templates > System > Logon

Step 3: On the right-side pane, locate to Show clear logon background policy. Double-click to open its properties.

Step 4: Select the Enabled radio button and click the Apply button.

Step 5: That’s all. Restart your PC.

Now, the blur effect on the sign in screen is turned off and you get to see actual clear background picture.
